Welcome back to Political Debrief! Today, I am talking about the recently rolled-out “Canada Dental Care Plan”, which the government says will provide 9 million Canadians with access to dental services. Marika Nadeau, Director General, Engagement and FPT Relations, Oral Health Branch, Health Canada joins me for a chat to talk about the start of the plan how this plan will help young Canadians access dental services.
Quick Note: I sought additional information about how many Canadians aged 0-25 would be eligible for the Dental Plan. Health Canada says they don’t have the breakdown for 0-25. However, 900,000 Canadians aged 0-18 are eligible for the plan in 2024-2025.
